HootSuite is a handy extension for Google Chrome that lets you easily share updates, links, and images on multiple social networking sites, but only when and where you choose. The extension appears in Chrome as an icon to the right of the address bar. Then, anytime you want to post something to one or more of these sites, simply click the icon. HootSuite will automatically grab the address of the Web page you're currently on and shorten it to a more update-friendly length.

Add your own text if desired, and then select the sites that you want HootSuite to publish to. Click the Send Now button, and your update is on its way to the selected sites. HootSuite even lets users schedule updates to be sent in advance, so you can send your best friend a birthday Tweet a few days in advance and know that it will appear on her birthday. Our only complaint about HootSuite had to do with its interface; it looks nice, but it appears in a rectangle that is too small to display all of the content.

This sometimes makes for some awkward scrolling, and at least once we found that we needed to click on a button that we simply couldn't get to. Aside from that, we think that HootSuite is an extremely useful extension, and it's a great choice for users of multiple social networking sites.

So I got angry and deleted all the scheduled posts, and lo and behold!

I tried force-closing the app, and even restarting the iPad to no avail. From a developer to another, this is unacceptable to have as a prod product. Please keep track of the bugs, and actually deal with them before posting a new version! I signed up and downloaded Hootsuite and never could figure out how to use it. Both times was told I have to do it online. Called their service number, sat on hold for 10 min and then left a message. Absolutely despicable!! I signed up for the day free trial and immediately was not happy. Soon after, I got a notification saying hashtags would not be supported.
